Haridwar is about 200 kms from Delhi, the capital of India and is well connected by road and rail network from all parts of India.
1) By bus
The UP Bus Roadways bus stand is at the south-west end of Station Rd. Regular services to Haridwar from Delhi, Dehra Dun (capital of Uttarankhand) and other state centers. Deluxe/semi-deluxe services operate to/from Delhi, Dehradun and Jaipur.
2) By private taxi
Haridwar, on State Highway 45 is connected to all major centers in the region and other parts of the country by good roads. It is a 4hour drive from Delhi. This is probably the best way to get there. The marketing offices of Sagar Ganga Resort in Delhi can arrange for a comfortable taxi to suit your requirements. You must stop at Cheetal Grand mid-way through and enjoy their food and hospitality. They have beautiful gardens surrounding the restaurant.
3) By train
There are daily Aradhana (overnight, Rs.900 for a 1st class A/C sleeper) and Shatabdi (daytime, Rs.400 for an A/C seat including meal) expresses from Delhi (4-5 hours) and Dehradun (1 hour). This is an excellent way to travel if you like to travel in train and want to avoid the road.
